Centering Prayers led by Chaplain Paul Fiorini, Mondays at 5:15- 6:15 PM in Room #7 Downstairs.
Contemplative Prayer has been part of Christianity since its very beginnings. Since the time of the desert mothers and fathers in the third century AD, different forms of Christian Meditation are documented in the church. Centering Prayer has been developed by Trappist monk and priest Fr. Thomas Keating in the middle of the 20st century.
From 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Room #7 downstairs, there is a weekly time for Centering Prayer. It starts with a spiritual reading, followed by a twenty minute period of meditation, then a contemplative walk, followed by another twenty minute period of meditation.
Chaplain Paul Fiorini leads this contemplative prayer group. He has been leading centering prayer workshops, retreats and groups since 1990. He was the director of Contemplative Outreach Northwest from 1990 to 1994. He has been a Hospice Chaplain since 2010, both at The Chaplaincy in Richland, Washington and Assured Hospice in Port Angeles, Washington.
This event is a collaboration between Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Port Angeles and the Interfaith Community of Clallam County.
