The Women’s Bible Commentary written/edited by three of the best feminist scholars today in the fields of the Old and New Testament. They are Carol A. Newsom, Sharon H. Ringe, and Jacqueline E. Lapsley. Their commentaries include not only every book of the Bible, but also the apocryphal books. Also included are “… essays on the reception history of women in the Bible; and essays on feminist critical method”.
Important question are raised. Among them ‘ … looking specifically at gender roles, sexuality, political power, and family life.’ The authors challenge long-held assumptions in these areas. Our library has many different bibles, twenty or more. With that in mind, this new edition of women’s commentary is well worth your time to look it over and read it’s perspective.
