Threads of Love

Threads of Love

is a ministry sharing the power of love through compassionate creativity, using knitting, crocheting, and other handwork to invite, involve, and serve people in our own community and around the world.

How you can be involved:

Come to our monthly meetings. You don’t have to attend meetings to make and donate hand-made items. But we’d love to have you! We gather in the Fireside Room from 1:00- 2:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. Bring your handwork and join us in praying and talking and working together.

Prayerfully knit or crochet items to share. You choose the project you want to make. Some folks create prayer shawls for those who are ill, infirm, mourning, or in pain. We also make hats, scarves, and mittens for homeless or low-income adults and children in our community. And, partnering with a group called Knitting4Peace (which connects knitting and crocheting groups from all around the country), we share baby blankets and Peace Pal dolls and a variety of requested items globally, with folks in poverty-stricken areas, war zones, and other areas of need.

Don’’t knit or crochet, but wish you could? You are welcome at our meetings! We will do our best to help you learn whatever technique appeals to you. We even have needles and yarn and patterns to help you get started!

To learn more about this ministry,  or join us at one of our meetings.  You will be most welcome. If you don’t want to wait that long, contact our coordinator, Karen Selig, or another member of the group.
