Can There Be Peace Between Predator And Prey?
Much of the worldview in our society today is based on the misunderstood theory of evolution which makes us believe that resources are limited, and we have to fight hard for our share. The strong will win, the weak will die. This is not how Isaiah envisions the natural order of things. God made this world in abundance. There is no victory for the strong and humiliation for the weak in the way God created the earth. When Isaiah shows us friendship and love between lion and lamb, baby and snake, the concepts of predator and prey, of violence and fear make no sense anymore. All of creation is interconnected, and there is enough for all. We are called to live towards Isaiah’s vision of a peaceful world.
