Good News To The Poor: You Will Have it Real Nice In The Afterlife!
“The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
These are the words, cited from the book of Isaiah, with which Jesus starts his public ministry in his hometown. How does it feel to be poor? What does it look like, to bring good news to the poor? I will explore these thoughts in memory of my grandparents, who knew poverty and stayed poor all their life.
