Holy Women: The Midwives Shifrah and Puah and Doing What is Right
In Genesis 1 we read that God created us male and female. It says nothing about one gender ruling over the other. However, that was the reality of most of human history.
It is time to rethink a woman’s place in society and religion. The scriptures prove that at all times and places, women have followed God’s call to be Agents of God’s grace. Like the midwives Shifrah and Puah, who defied Pharaohs orders to kill all male Israelite children, they have defied law, custom and especially men to do what is right and to build God’s kingdom on earth.
Through women God is speaking. Time for men to shut up and listen.
