Biblical scholar David Lose writes that some biblical texts actually do not say what we think they say. The story of Martha and Mary has a double meaning. One focusses on people with privilege and the other on people who are on the receiving end of priveledge. The story calls the underprivileged to boldly claim their space and the privileged to make room.
