Nicodemus or What Does it Mean to Have Faith?

There is no perfect faith. the way I see it, to have faith means to stay in the game, the ‘Jesus game’, even when you don’t understand, have doubts, mess up, or feel bad. Nicodemus, in his own way, stayed in the game. He did not completely understand what Jesus was talking about. He did not give up his life and position to travel the land at Jesus’ side. But who are we to judge? Here is what he did do for Jesus: Nicodemus publicly defended Jesus, when Jesus stood accused by the Jewish council in John, chapter 7. And Nicodemus, together with Joseph of Arimathea, went to high expenses to provide Jesus with a proper burial in John, chapter 19. And that was the time, when ‘the twelve’ had dispersed and where nowhere to be seen near Jesus. So, I want to give a shout out today to Nicodemus. I think, Nicodemus had faith in Jesus, he trusted him.
