Power is Made Perfect in Weakness
In our journeys of faith, we will encounter both; moments when God reveals himself to us in amazing displays of power and beauty; and moments when we experience God’s mercy in the face of poverty and sickness and death. Sometimes, God can come all the closer to us, just because our life takes a turn to the worse, and we are suddenly stripped of all layers of protection we usually surround ourselves with. Our obsession with being protected and safe and happy and lucky at all times can keep us from truly and deeply experiencing God’s grace and mercy. We shy away from God’s presence in our brokenness, because we do not wish to feel vulnerable. But how is God’s spirit going to work in us, if we don’t make ourselves vulnerable, and leave open gates and pathways to our minds, souls and hearts?
