The Spirit of Awe – Job 38:1-11
Today’s readings are all about experiences on the edge! Our Gospel Reading tells us about a big storm and the fear of the disciples not to survive it, the psalmist sings about a similar event. In Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, he talks about having endured beatings, imprisonment and riots. And, in the book of Job, God talks from a whirlwind. Job has experienced great joy and great suffering in his life, more than most people. But still, God shows Job that there is so much more to experience in God’s good created world, so many deeper things to ponder about in regard to life and death and faith.
